The African Institute for Investigative Journalism (AIIJ) seeks to hire a communications manager to be in charge of overseeing all aspects of communications, provide leadership to the communications department and provide mentorship and oversight to the communications staff team.
The position requires a strong writer, editor and analytical mind that will develop high quality content for AllJ’s external communications including daily administration of the digital communication channels, fundraising development and communications responsibilities with a strong connection to AIIJ’s programmatic work and mission.
AIIJ is a non-profit media organisation that is creating a home for investigative journalism in Africa by using journalism as a tool for promoting social accountability, inform public discourse and create a nurturing space for professional and passionate investigative journalists.

Requirements
- Applicants should have a degree in communications, journalism, mass communication , or public relations – a master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Applicants should have at least three years of working as a communications officer/ manager.
- Ability to speak at least four languages fluently.
- Ability to work under minimum pressure.
